Australia needs you…

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

Australia at this time of the year always seems to face a number of situations that cause damage and bring heartache. Things such as bush fires, cyclones and flooding or drought. We see the usual rise in violent and drunken behaviour sadly as the vacation summer period seems to be ‘open season’ for human wreckage. It is the same each year.  We are developing better warnings systems and much publicity is placed on the media about drinking, driving and courtesy but…..
There is a link that I believe is associated with such behaviours and events at this time. I am not saying that this link will stop the bush fire or inhibit the generation of cyclones, but I do believe that much of what happens at this time of the year is a by-product of a dropping off of the impact the church of Jesus Christ has upon our nation as a whole.
For at this time of the year, every year, the church generally goes on vacation. Not in a physical sense but in a spiritual manner. The Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Thess 2:7 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7  For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. NKJV
or this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. NLT

Paul was saying that the Holy Spirit working through the Church was holding back the powers of darkness until it was God’s time to ‘allow’ the anti Christ and his lawlessness to sweep over the world like never before.
The church in Australia is required to ‘stand in the gap’, to ‘contend for the faith’ and it seems at this time of the year Australia wide, it drops its guard. People take a break from God. Jesus exhorted and warned us that apart from Him we can do nothing….
Remember in the Book of Judges the words that laid the foundation of the spiritual roller coaster ride the people were having…blessing then trouble…deliverance then blessing….apathy then trouble…. Jdg 17:6    In those days [there was] no king in Israel, [but] every man did [that which was] right in his own eyes.
May we as the fellowship here at CCSH not drop our guard but instead follow Joshua and Caleb’s example…
Joshua had warned Israel of the consequences of forsaking the Lord once entering the Promised Land. (Read Joshua 23-24)
Will you as a believer, as a father a mother, make  a stand for this nation and people where God has placed us…so that the powers of darkness cannot have free reign each summer season over our land?

Below are the exact phrases.
Jos 24:15    And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
