Wise man and the foolish
Jesus teaches us how to be wise in a very deliberate and succinct manner. Wisdom itself is the right application of knowledge. A lot of people, Christians, know the Word of God but lack wisdom. How can this be? Why is it that so many Christians today make foolish decisions, end up in crazy circumstances and sadly repeat such behaviour? Matthew 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Wisdom is only found in the application and obedience to the Word of God – it does not operate apart from such. In this parable where Jesus mentions this He tells us that the wise man built his house on a rock. To build on rock means a lot of hard work in digging the foundations – wisdom is not an easy thing to achieve at times. Could it be that the easy road is the one too often travelled? Patience, faith, and obedience are all required to travel the road and life of wisdom – but what a blessing to do that which is right – to make the right decisions – to see the blessing of correct choices. Listen to our Lord’s words and become a wise man or woman and see the power and blessing of such a life.
