Lord, I’m listening now like never before…!
May I ask you a question?
When has God spoken the loudest and clearest to you?
In the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John is banished to a desolate island (Patmos), if I were John I would have thought, “Lord, what is going on here, why have you put me here?” Yet it was at this time in John’s life he received the greatest blessing of Jesus Christ Himself giving John the visions and words of what we now call the Book of Revelation.
Has 2011 placed you on a precarious ledge in your life with a drop that seems to have no end?
When Abraham was directed by God to Mount Moriah there to sacrifice his only son Isaac, if given a choice would Abraham have shied away?
Yet it was there AFTER the event that God revealed Himself to Abraham as Jehovah Jireh – the Lord who sees and provides!
How often have I asked God, why have you placed me in this position, and I have a choice of being immature and walking out, dropping my bundle, blaming everyone else and never growing up to taste and see that the Lord is good.
The only way the prophet Habbakuk could write, 17 Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vine; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, 18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation. 19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He will make me as surefooted as a deer and bring me safely over the mountains.
It was because he stayed the course!
The very precipice you are clinging to maybe where God has placed you to grow up, to mature, for it will be there, should you stay the course, that God will give you fresh revelation and a fuller revelation of Jesus Christ and who He is to you!
