Heading off to church…

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

In Paul’s first letter to the church in Thessalonica he writes,Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also you do…1 Thess 5:11
As we head to our local fellowship to worship God, pray, study God’s Word and…….edify one another, there seems to be little said about ourselves.
There are certain Sunday’s pre-service, whether morning or evening, that I hear a special sound. It is the sound of encouragement, gladness that just fills the sanctuary.
When you go to fellowship, what is your agenda when you arrive? Could it be that we often attend service for our needs more than anything else?
What a wonderful distinction it would be whilst on my way, I am seeking God for who He wants me to minister a word of encouragement, a prayer of support and time of comforting to.
What a wonderful godly impact such a person would have each time.
Paul would have us all to be a vessel of edification to a brother or sister in Christ.
May our prayer and our ministry always be to another and for another. God help us all to be His vessel that is not full of ourselves but is overflowing with the grace, love and power of the Holy Spirit to a needy soul.
May your next travel time to church be filled with godly anticipation to serve and be a blessing.
To God be the glory
