The Preparation Begins…
Before Jesus the Messiah was born there was much preparation both in heaven and on earth. In heaven there was that majestic scene that Paul writes of Jesus laying aside His glory and taking on Himself the form of a servant and He was to be made in the likeness of man….Phil 2:6-7.
How amazing that must have been as the angels watched Him who had made man in His image as recorded in Genesis now preparing to enter the very world He created as a child born of a virgin.
There must have been a hush like never experienced before in the heavenlies. God was fashioning Himself as a man, humbling Himself, and coming to our earth to suffer and die on a cruel cross.
As we draw near to the coming of Christmas, may we consider the amazing grace and love of God that He would go through such detailed preparation and planning all to bring salvation to a world that needed a Saviour.
No other system of faith details or explains the exacting and purposeful events whereby God did all the work so that man might know Him and be rescued from His sin.
This is why Paul would say in that same letter of Philippians these words, That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and the things in earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God and the Father – Phil 2:10-11
There is no other salvation found in any other way, any other god, any other name BUT through the name of Jesus Christ.
As the Christmas season slowly begins to rise on your horizon – will you take time to truly saturate yourself in more that just one day, one moment? Take time to study God’s Word and allow a much richer and greater blessing fill your season and let Christmas be more than a few hours but let it be a time, a season of preparing your heart to meditate and bathe in all that our loving Lord did to give us Christmas!
To God be the glory!!
