How does one try to put into words the experience, the emotions of a visit to Israel? To walk where Jesus walked, to pray where He prayed, to stand where He was crucified and to enter the tomb where His body lay for three days.  Helen and I will never be the same and neither will God’s Word or our passion for God’s people and His land Israel. It will take time to download from our hearts and minds just what we learned, what we felt and also how God touched our hearts during that time. Yet Israel, such a small piece of land geographically, it can be crossed by car from east to west in barely two hours. At one point, near Netanya, it is only 4.2 Kms from the Mediterranean Sea to the border of Judea and Samaria (West Bank). From the North, the Golan Heights to the south, the Red Sea, one can make the trip is less than 10 hours. It takes a jet fighter just 2.5 minutes to travel from North to South and 25 seconds from west to east
Israel is a land surrounded by enemies, with just a population of around 7 million. Miraculously and prophetically Israel became a nation again against all odds in May 14, 1948, 4 p.m. Friday – 1878 years after the Roman Legions had destroyed the Second Temple in Jerusalem.
Isaiah 66: 8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day?
Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children. 9 Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says the LORD. “Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?” says your God.
One of the greatest proofs of the Living God is the state of Israel. Nations and peoples from the time of the Pharaohs to the rise of the Nazi Party under Hitler have attempted to annihilate the people of Israel. But God…..
Helen and I were asked to take one thing above all else back to our homeland when we were in Israel. It was this simple request, “please pray for the people and peace of Israel”.
These are God’s chosen people. May our hearts heed the cry and command of this biblical proclamation – Genesis 12:2-3 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
