God’s Power Displayed…
Isaiah 40: 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength
The power of God is something I am constantly amazed at as I read through God’s precious Word. It starts with His power to create in the very first line of the Bible.
Through out each book we then see amazing events unfold displaying the awesome power of the living God.
I yearn to see God’s power displayed in the church here in Australia in the lives of those who confess to be followers of Christ.
What power am I talking about is an important question. It is NOT the power of people flailing on the floor in church services or the blowing over of people with the waving of hands or jackets. No, it is not this that I am yearning for!
It is the power of God to transform a lost and guilty soul into one that walks with God in an instant by the confession of sin and the repentance of a broken and contrite spirit before a holy God. It is the power that transforms a marriage hanging by a thread into a match made in heaven by God’s Holy Spirit making two warring hearts forgiving and gracious one to another.
It is the power of a young man or woman refusing to go the way of the world and keeping themselves sexually pure for the mate that they a patiently waiting for God to bring across their lives in His time.
I believe God is desirous to show and demonstrate His power in these ways in the very lives we are living here in Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour. A power that sees us selfless and thinking more of others.
Do you hunger for God’s power in your life?
I encourage you this week to seek God’s power to be revealed in your life. I long to see after each service, lines of people standing for prayer, believing that God has more for them and that He wants to bring blessing into His children’s lives and display His awesome power!
