Reaching a lost soul..in your mission field.
Can you recount how you came to put your faith in Jesus Christ? Did it happen because of a speaker at an outreach? Did it occur during a teaching at a major church event? This is the story of some Christians.
But for most of us, we accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior because we knew a true Christian who shared with us the wonderful Gospel of Jesus Christ. They simply showed us Jesus.
We as the church of Jesus Christ here in Secret Harbour are to change our thinking of missions from a church that sends people to a church of “sent people!”
Often churches look to find a slogan, a catch phrase to describe their mission.
As the church of Jesus Christ, we don’t have to do that, in fact there is no need at all to do that as we already have been given our mission, our agenda, by none other than Jesus Christ Himself!
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
What is the call of Christ upon your life? It is to be a sent person…taking the gospel!
We the church are a sent people, called by God to be on a mission with Jesus within our current contexts. Going on mission doesn’t mean buying a plane ticket. It means going where Christ has already sent us and being faithful to Him there.
This is the most exciting life that Christ has called us to. And you can fulfill the call of God in and on your life right where you are now!
Hear God speaking to you even now and realize that you have been sent and that you have people you interact with each day that Jesus has sent you to…..they are your mission field directed and chosen by Jesus!
Will you assume your position……?
