Jesus, Lord and Saviour..mine…
We are living in a time the Bible predicted would be one of many religions, false messiahs and a great falling away by many from the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Even some people I studied with and studied under when attending Bible College, some of these even no longer walk with the Lord. It deeply troubles my soul to know this has happened to them. But something amazing in God’s Word reveals how this can be for the Apostle John, and even Jesus experienced this with Judas. John would write in his letter to the churches, 1Jo 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but [they went out] that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.
I have had over the years, had the tremendous blessing of knowing older saints in the Lord, people who have served and loved God for many many years faithfully. There is something in each of these precious saints that reveals a mature faithful walk with God.
It is that their love for their Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ is stronger and stronger with every year, day and hour the Lord allows them to be on this earth serving Him. They have grown to be more like Him each day! They are the most wonderful people to be around and are always encouraging, blessing and building others up.
King David wrote, Psa 115:8 Those who make them are like them; [So is] everyone who trusts in them. He was saying you become like that which you worship, whatever is your god! What is the image you reflect?
You will remember, when a woman of ‘poor reputation’ came into see Jesus whilst He was having dinner as a guest in a religious leaders house…..in Lukes Gospel chapter 7. The woman wept over Jesus feet and then wiped her tears and Jesus feet with her hair. The Pharisee’s thoughts were, “How could Jesus let this women even touch him!”
Jesus responded with a story of forgiveness and love and the measure of ones love is a barometer of how much one has been forgiven!
How much do you love Jesus Christ tonight? When I consider His love for me and His death on the cross for me, my love for Him fills every ounce of ‘sail’ within my soul – for He is My Lord and My Saviour, He is My Jesus…..
Will you pause for a moment and ask where your worship lies. What are you becoming like, what do you reflect in how you live?
May your love for Jesus be abounding in a life that reflects such love for Him…as your Lord and Saviour.
