A heart to serve – now!
Luke 5: 11….They forsook all and followed Him: Jesus chose unlearned, unlettered men, but He taught them. You don’t need fancy degrees and education to start out in ministry, but you must enrol yourself in the University of the Word. You need to have a heart to serve, to work, to do all that you can for the Lord your God.
Moses, David, Gideon, Matthew, and Paul, among others, were called while already at work. God’s call usually comes while we are busy.
The Apostle Paul wrote, And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and NOT unto men. – Col 3:23
It was whilst Peter was fishing that Jesus came, it was whilst Moses was tending his father-laws-sheep that God appeared to him in the burning bush – Exodus 3.
It was when Elisha was ploughing with twelve yoke of oxen that Elijah cast the mantle of ministry upon him – 1 Kings 19:19
Many people who want to be missionaries, ministers, or youth pastors are just sitting “waiting on God” and expecting everybody else to provide for ‘their’ ministry but they are not willing to work….now.
But they will be still waiting at age, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70. The answer is to work. Whatever you are doing, do it heartily to the Lord – for it is then that God will tap you on your shoulder and give you tasks that are even more significant for the Kingdom.
