Normal Christianity!

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

The Book of Acts is an amazing book that tells in detail the ascension of Jesus Christ, the empowering of the Disciples on the Day of Pentecost and the birth of the early church.
As we read about the early church, its challenges, its triumphs and it amazing power through the working of the Holy Spirit through simple folk who loved Jesus we sometimes think that this was radical Christianity.
With no media campaign, no electronic devices such as microphones, amplifiers, or any other of the modern day gadgetry, the early church spread the gospel world wide and thousands of people came to Christ.
Theirs was not a radical Christianity that brought this result. Rather it was the ‘normal’ Christianity of simple people living for God, loving God, sharing the gospel, and in the face of ever increasing violent opposition they kept their faith shining in a dark world.
May I encourage you to read slowly through the Book of Acts and just see how God used these very same people as you and I yet to amazing results.
No it was not radical behaviour, radical Christianity…it was ‘normal’ Christianity! It was living sincerely and faithfully as a follower of Christ.
May God in His mercy help us these 2000 plus years later to get back to the ‘normal’ Christianity that was the church as it started.
Simple, serious, steadfast and solid in their total commitment to living a life to the glory of Jesus Christ!
