Prayer & God’s Word..the language of the spirit!
If you have ever had the difficult circumstances of visiting someone who is terminally ill and in their very last days of life here on earth, prayer is the most wonderful and beautiful gift you can bring to them.
There are those times that we face when the doctors have done all they can, when the chemo or the radiation has been stopped and treatment has been reduced to “making someone as comfortable as they can be”, in their last stages of life.
Just what can one do? What can one give or offer?
It is at times like this that I have seen over and over again the power of God’s Word, reading the scriptures of God’s love, grace and hope, and wrapping them in prayer, together be the very language of the spirit that reaches into the deepest depths of the person suffering and create peace, hope and comfort!
Prayer, praying for a person in their last days, those words are like a precious balm of oil that brings a soothing to an anxious fearful or troubled soul. People often struggle to know what to say at such times….it is here when God’s Word brings pillars of strength, handles of hope and windows into life everlasting.
But you just can’t wheel these out every now and then or only when times are difficult otherwise the delivery of such amazing gifts is inhibited by our own lack of familiarity or trust in such blessed tools.
My prayer is that you will be well versed in God’s Word and equally well practiced in speaking to God as your loving heavenly Father. 2Ti 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season [and] out of season. 1Th 5:17 pray without ceasing,
