When was the last time you heard the Lord?

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

In Matthew 13 Jesus gives us the parable of the sower and the seed. In later explaining that parable Jesus tells us that God is the sower, the Word of God is the seed, and the soil of which there are four types are men and women’s hearts in response to that seed, God’s Word.
When you are at a Bible study, reading God’s Word or sitting under its teaching at any time – do you hear God speaking to you?

Do you take any notice of what He is saying to you?
Jesus teaching on the sower and the seed, says there will be four types of soil or peoples hearts.
–       Some will listen for a moment and then you will place something else you consider more important to you in your mind and will switch off.
–       Some will listen for a time and think, yes that’s for me and yet your applying God’s word to your life will be for just a moment, a flash in time and then no more.
–       Still others will listen, God will speak to you, but the cares of this world, will push away the things of God and choke out any connection you once had where God spoke to you at that time.
–       Finally, God will speak to some others who will hear God plainly, and take note, remember what He says, purposely apply it in their lives and it will bring much fruit and impact in their lives…
Which soil is your heart  –  for it totally depends upon you!
When someone you consider important speaks to you you take great attention and note carefully what they say. Probably even writing it down!
In other situations when you are very interested in some subject, or you have a passion for a certain thing, then you again will take great note of what’s said and apply it carefully and exactly if it will help get what you want!
When God speaks – it’s important – every time!
I pray that each time you hear or read God’s Word your heart will be good receptive soil!
Be the one in four who not only listens but obeys what God commands us.
