A place of rest

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

Worship of our Lord is like air to our extistence, water for our hydration. God made us to be creatures of worship. People naturally worship things in their everyday life. Whether it be at a concert or a sporting arena, people rejoice, shout and watch in amazement – it’s inbuilt!
Rev 4:11         Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
But there is only one real reason we are designed as such and that is to worship our Lord, our Creator, our Heavenly Father.
If you this week have been rung out, overwhelmed, emotionally battered or simply “done”, may I encourage you to do that which God made you for. To sit and find a place, a place of solace, and wait on the Lord in worship of who He is.
Jesus said, Mat 11:28    “Come to Me, all [you] who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Mat 11:29    ”Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Mat 11:30    ”For My yoke [is] easy and My burden is light.”
As you stop and take time to do what God designed you to do you will be blessed and strength, reason and courage will be some of the blessings you will receive as you worship the loving God who made you.
Now, we should not simply and only worship God to receive such, but we should as the first commandment instructs us, love God with everything we have and with all our being, but God who simply is amazing, gives us blessing as we worship and honour Him.
As you prepare your heart for tomorrow where you will gather with the Body of Christ to worship God corporately, I pray that you will worship God this Sunday in a far more intimate and longing manner. May you truly fulfill the very purpose for which you were created and worship the true and living God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength – and you too will be blessed!
