The Religion of Evolution
Evolution – which is still called correctly the Theory of Evolution, is an amazing religion. I call it a religion because it is a belief system that is worshiped by many and is held aloft as the sole reason for the existence of life as we know it. Yet it is still a theory or as I was taught in my biology class at high school, that evolution is an hypothesis. Hypothesis meaning an educated guess!
A program I watched on TV last night religiously espoused this theory with the help of computer generated images of the earth some how forming and lifeforms evolving from nothingness…including man. There was one scene where man or that is at least prehistoric man all of a sudden needed to have to stand on its hind legs to move. It was indeed a great leap of faith as I watched this chance happening where man no longer went on all fours but now walked on its hind legs.
The great tragedy of the religion of evolution, besides it being untrue, is that taking the argument of evolution on its natural logical path again leads us to a place where man is simply an animal of the highest form.
Yet when our children act like animals we say that their behaviour is inappropriate, which leaves the kids with a massive dilemma. They are taught that man is an animal, yet they are not to act like one. How is that logical?
The animal kingdom is a very cruel world. Its the law of the strongest. Its the elimination of the weakest. There is no reasoning in its behavioural realm of existence.
It is this animal existence that repels society when we see acts of wanton violence, the innocent mistreated, the frail abused and our society falling apart.
Evolution makes no room for God as it is a world void of God in any shape or form.
Yet man, you and I, somehow have inbuilt in us passions for what is right and wrong. We have emotions that rise when we see injustice, we desire truth which no animal cares about in any shape or sense in its existence.
Humans are not animals and we did not come from an evolutionary process to be what we are. The Bible declares that we each are made in the image of God. It is this image, this likeness by which we have a soul, the deepest most part of our being in which dwells the most amazing emotions, desires and needs.
For if we truly are simply the highest order of evolution in the animal kingdom, there can be nothing wrong with the strongest of our ‘species’ taking whatever it desires from the ‘weakest’ of our species. It means that there is nothing wrong with the strongest removing the weakest from our existence if evolution truly is our foundation and our evolving future. So the next time you see some strong young powerful being taking advantage of a weaker being, you simply must accept it as an act of natural progression, elimination.
But if such an act raises concern in your heart, a compassion for the victim, and seeks justice to be meted out to the perpetrator of the crime….that will tell you in whose image you are indeed made!
But there is one other amazing difference between man and beast – that is that each and every one of you, every man, woman and child, desires and has a great need to be loved! Animals, simply need a full belly!
It is not the law of the jungle that is our mantra – no it is compassion for the weak, a burden for the oppressed, a love for the suffering and a desire to see good triumph over evil. To believe that there is more to this life and that there is an existence after death.
