Bethlehem
We just arrived back from the city of Bethlehem where we visited the site of the birth of Christ. It is an interesting experience to say the least.
There is much pomp and ceremony in the Church of the Nativity and it is quite a contrast to what Christ taught and why He came.
But leaving all that aside it is still a powerful blessing to be at the site where God came into this world to save us from our sin. His coming is the most important reason for visiting Bethlehem. It reminds us that God really came and walked on our planet as a man and then not far from where He was born died on the cross of Calvary to reveal Gods great love for all of us.
I was reminded again of the precious Scripture, like Bethlehem in its power to take us back to why Jesus came, but unlike Bethlehem has not lost any of its glory….”For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16…
The significance of Bethlehem as the location whe Christ was born will never change or diminish…neither will Christ’s love for us all.
