Expect Trials to Come!
After prayer this Wednesday evening at 7:00pm at the chapel, we study the exodus of the children of Israel out of Egypt.
After the Egyptian army has been drowned by the power of God at the Red Sea the children of Israel some three days later, came across the bitter waters of Marah which they could not drink. Trouble erupted for Moses as the people complained!
It was one thing for the children of Israel to sing praises to the Lord after the defeat of the Egyptian army and the miraculous crossing of the Red Sea. But it was quite another thing to trust God in their daily wilderness walk.
They were no different to so many believers today. Life is still a school and the painful experiences of life teach us some of the most valuable and godly lessons. The children of Israel forgot they must expect new lessons and fight new battles after the amazing battle and victory at the Red Sea, fought and won by the Lord!
One great victory does not settle everything; let us remember we need challenging new experiences that will help us mature and glorify God.
Life is a school and our Lord knows just when to give us an examination!
If we trust God and obey His Word, we will pass the test and grow; but if in unbelief we complain and disobey the Lord, we will fail the test and remain immature!
