Our Vision
Some time back, it was the “in thing” for every business, every company, to have a mission statement.
Churches, jumped into the world of business and began having these amazing statements of mission. Many of them a close reflection to the world of commerce.
The church of Jesus Christ is not a business, although at times, this image is very blurred in today’s modern society and the church becomes more and more like the world in its operation and methodology as Jesus predicted it would. Just read the letter Jesus told the Apostle John to write to the church of the last days, the church of Laodicea in the Book of Revelation chapter 3:14-22. It had a Christ-less Christianity in operation.
Let’s keep it simple as Jesus commanded us, the mission statement of the Church He created on the Day of Pentecost and that awaits His soon return for them as Paul wrote in 1 Thess 4:13-17, has one clear mission!
Jesus commanded us to Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature!
That’s it, that is the mission for the church and has been since its creation. That’s our mission, yours and mine.
The reason Jesus came was to bring salvation to a sinful world and give us the blessed opportunity to receive His grace, forgiveness and eternal life.
My question to you is how are you fulfilling, working out, following Jesus mission that He gave us to do?
Don’t fall into the trap of wasteful pursuits, particularly parents as our children and grandchildren need to personally come to know Jesus Christ themselves.
What a tragedy and what a waste our lives will have been if we neglect our calling, our mission. My heart shutters to think of neglect and selfishness filling our lives instead of introducing the lost, lonely and broken to our Saviour.
Today, make a change in your mission, cast your mission aside and follower the Masters!
