What’s HAPPENING & WHEN –
This morning we start our new study in the Book of Philippians. Be sure to keep up with each of our three series (Philippians, 2 Corinthians, Ezra) we are going through via our podcast on our web page. We encourage you to be part of our 24/7 prayer ministry by booking certain hours through the week to pray for CCSH. See Marty Le Chat for details or any of the pastors this morning. We have Bible teaching positions coming up here at CCSH in our Sunday school. This is one of the most responsible and important teaching positions we have here at CCSH. If God is calling you to this ministry please see Helen with your details for consideration. If you would like to serve in some capacity here at CCSH and be a blessing fill in one of the Calvary Connection Cards and place it in the offering container and you will be contacted.

Pastor’s Desk
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain – Phil 1:21 Paul says this is how we as Christians are to live. Sadly many now are living for the following bringing tragic ramifications:
For me to live is “money” – and to die is to leave it all behind.
For me to live is “fame” – and to die is to be quickly forgotten.
For me to live is “power and influence” – and to die is to lose both.
For me to live is “possessions” – and to die is to depart with nothing in my hands.
When money is our objective, we must live in fear of losing it, making us paranoid.
When fame is our aim, we must become competitive lest we be upstaged.
When power and influence drive us, we must be self-willed and self-serving, with arrogance thrown in to appear to achieve. When possessions become our goal, we think we never have enough which breeds greed.
Only Jesus Christ can satisfy your soul and He will always brings joy!
Helen’s Heart
Man’s steps are ordained by the Lord – Prov 20:24 – Trials, even though we don’t welcome them, are designed specifically by our Maker for us. We may groan and weep and pray under the pressure, but through it all we depend upon God’s Word, grow and learn. Rather than resent these God-ordained trials let’s embrace them for the good they do in our lives. May you look forward to what God has ordained for you this week. Helen
