Pastor’s Desk –
Happy New Year for 2016. We are yet another 1 year closer to Christ’s return! This year is the year of prayer! Why? We need to pray now more than ever! It is time to be wholehearted about your relationship with God. Firstly, the Bible says, that you must be born again to be a Christian. Calling yourself one won’t do it with God if you have not recognised you are a sinner; repented of your sins, and asked God to forgive you of those sins. Secondly, if you are truly born again, your life will reflect your walk with God in every part of your existence, your thoughts, your speech, your purity and the reality of God’s love will be seen in the way you live. You will live, think and speak differently to the rest of the world and the way you lived previously. Thirdly, as a believer you will look on prayer in your life as much as the need to your existence as the air you breathe. From today, be committed about your obedience and walk with God. Start this year on the right foundation. Phl 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
Helen’s Heart –
Be exalted O God above the heavens and your glory above all the earth – Psalm 108:5 – It is good to have time to take in the splendour of God’s creation. While on holidays, we seem to have the time to notice a new landscape either from travelling to different parts of the state or perhaps another country. Or maybe it’s just witnessing a breathtaking dawn. The heavens declare the glory of God….there is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard Psalm 19. Man’s greatest achievements pale in significance. God’s creation truly is awesome. Listen to God’s voice this week – may it be a blessed start to the New Year, 2016. Happy New Year.
