Will God hear your prayer…?
We often think that God only hears the prayers of holy men, preachers or those who live a ‘saint’ like life. Therefore many people just don’t bother praying because they believe God isn’t interested in their prayers.
In the Book of Jonah there was a city called Nineveh. We hear of no churches of God being in Nineveh. There is no record of any ‘holy’ people in Nineveh either. In fact the people of Nineveh were facing the judgment of God because they were living in absolute rebellion to God’s ways. So God sent His prophet, Jonah, to the city to warn them of coming judgment unless they repented of their sins.
Jonah 3:4 On the day Jonah entered the city, he shouted to the crowds: “Forty days from now Nineveh will be destroyed!”
Jonah’s words and warning from God however convinced the people of Nineveh to repent and change their way of living before God. A fast was proclaimed in the city and the people humbled themselves and they prayed.
God heard their prayers and Nineveh was saved at that time.
The Bible tells us that God sends rain on the just and on the unjust – Matthew 5:45
Any man, woman boy or girl or lifts their voice to God as did the people of Nineveh will have the ear of Almighty God.
God has a plan and a purpose for your life. Call out to Him and begin a relationship with your Creator – pray and He will hear you and answer you.
