The burn…..

The burn……
We are told that when one works out correctly, exercises in any beneficial way, that our muscles burn with the extra wear and tear created by extending the muscle tissues to a point they have not worked previously – muscle burn!
That this is how our muscles develop and grow stronger.
When we face trials in our Christian walk it is natural for us to be hesitant, to shrink back some times, from facing any kind of trial. No one likes such trials especially when you reach the hurting period.
Likewise in your exercising, it’s when our bodies signal for us to stop as well, we some times stumble whether to continue on, to push through.
But life is never without trials and the real issue is how we will react when we face them. Will we react in anger or simply give up? Or will we take our emotions out on another or possibly even seek revenge?
Or will we be like Job, bow before God in absolute faith, and continue to praise His name.
It’s interesting when one pushes through the pain barrier in exercising, the ‘burn’ signal actually tells you you’re on the right path!
James tells us – Count it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance – Jam 1:2-3
May you ‘burn’ this week as you walk with God and continue to serve Him no matter the trials you face, no matter the struggles, and like Job may you too be able to say – the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. – Job 1:21
