The “dash” of life…!

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

At the end of each day we should examine just how we have spent the last 24 hours or 1,440 minutes because we will never have them again.
We do not live in the past, nor can we step into the future but we can live in the moment we all have now – for Jesus Christ!
You may be thinking, “Aren’t you going a little overboard here, what about the everyday things we have to do?” Yes we do have everyday tasks and responsibilities that must be done. The rubbish must be put out and the dog fed.
But, before those, between those and after those, we have a rich treasure trove of time that we can serve God, be a blessing to someone and live our lives in such a way that others will ask about the loving God we know!
If you have ever visited a cemetery and read the tombstones they each follow a similar pattern. They each have a date of birth and a date of death. But between those two dates is a little line – a little dash, it is in that little line each day we live.
It is in that little line that God gives us amazing opportunities to be a father, a mother, a son or daughter, a friend and a comforter.
The Apostle Paul wrote a statement, a guide, a compass setting for each of us on how to fill in that little line between our birth date and date of death.
…..redeeming the time, because the days are evil…..Eph 5:16
Sit down at your diary, your personal organiser and fill in your little line with……Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1Co 10:31
You have an another 1,440 minutes tomorrow let us not waste a moment of them!
