Missed opportunities….

Missed opportunities….
Last Wednesday evening at the chapel, we had a gathering of believers who worshipped the Lord and then joined in corporate prayer.
We can pray on our own and our Lord commands us to do so in Matthew’s Gospel – 6:6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
But there is something powerful and unique when we pray together and agree together on matters of prayer that weigh heavy on our hearts and bring tears to our eyes. We prayed as such last Wednesday evening for a little girl by the name of Paige, 13 years of age, who is fighting desperately against an aggressive cancer that has befallen her.
The power of the prayer that went up from those gathered at the chapel you could sense was from the deepest parts of our souls and the union of such a cry of prayer from God’s people I know moved heaven!
Often people out of a sense of guilt attend prayer meetings but their minds are elsewhere. Last Wednesday evening everyone’s mind was fixed on the throne of God and this poor little girl called Paige.
I was reminded of the four friends of the man who was lowered through the roof down in front of Jesus so that Jesus would pray for and heal their sick friend.
Mark 2:4 They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus.
For those of you who for some reason were not at the prayer meeting I urge you to not miss the next opportunity to pray like the church prayed for little Paige!
Prayer is not a burden, it is never a waste of effort or time. It is to those who love Jesus Christ and know His power and love, the greatest opportunity to be used by Him!
May we never miss the opportunity to pray and see the power of God released to touch little ones like Paige.
Act 4:31
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
The Church is at its most powerful when it gathers to pray!
