Ecclesiastes Series – #meaning Part 6: “Joy”

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

And they all lived happily ever after…

We’ve all, no doubt, heard this phrase before. The clichéd fairy tale ending is something that exists in the realm of fantasy, but for many people is pursued in reality. The goal in modern life is to obtain and enjoy happiness for as long as we can – hopefully forever. And so we chase all sorts of things, events, people, etc. in the hopes that these will achieve that end. It is the search for Utopia – the longing to return to Eden.

What does the bible have to say on this?

What is to be the Christian pursuit, and experience of this?

In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon has a lot to say on happiness and enjoyment. Join us this Sunday evening the 30th of April as we study Ecclesiastes Ch 6 and examine perspectives on happiness. Ultimately, we’ll see and learn that the Christian is called to experience something far greater than happiness – the abundant joy of the Lord.

See you at 6.00 p.m. for a time of worship and study of God’s word.
