Prayer Night – 1 John 5 “How Does God Answer Prayer?”

Pastor’s PenPsa 90:10 The
days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength
they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is
soon cut off, and we fly away.
As one grows older and experiences life the more,
the reality of King David’s words in Psalm 90 grow clearer every day. When we
are young in years, our thoughts don’t travel the expanse of such eternal
thinking. Our lives are seemingly alive with what we perceive to be a
never-ending vigour of youth and vitality. But one only has to take our eyes
off ourselves for a moment to see the world in real time as a place that is
passing quickly and unravelling before our eyes. The reality is that not
everyone lives forever. Not everyone enjoys bliss and good times everyday, nor
lives happily ever after. There is a time for everything under heaven King
Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes; today is a time for all of us to take stock of
our lives. Where are we heading? Why am I here on this earth at this time? What
is the purpose of my existence? I pray that you will seek God and step out of
the selfish cauldron of our world and find the purpose that Christ came into
our world – to seek and save the lost.

I pray that you know Jesus
Christ as your Lord and Saviour, that He is the reason for your existence. It’s
the greatest of all discoveries!

Helen’s Heart –

Wise men and their deeds are in the hand of God. Man does not know
whether it will be love or hatred; anything awaits him Ecc 9:1
God is there, He is not
silent. Nothing is out of control, we are not robots stumbling through time
facing ‘fate’ at the end. God has given us an expected end and His plans for us
are good. We can have confidence that whatever happens to us is from a loving
father who cares for us and does not lose control. Set your hope on God who is
in control this week. love Helen

7:00pm as the church seeks God’s wisdom, strength power and blessing for the
many needs and ministries that God has directed us in. Your prayer support
brings you to the very coalface of God’s work and also God’s blessing. Make it

available to pray for you directly after the morning’s service at the front of
the sanctuary.
