1 Thessalonians – Part 1: The Model Church

Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour   -

“I am looking for, but cannot seem to find, the perfect church!”
Have you ever said these words? Ever heard someone else say them?
What lies behind these words is a desire in the hearts and lives of Christians to find a local fellowship of believers that they can be a part of and that reflects church ‘as it is supposed to be’. The trouble with this is, that so many people hold to so many different qualities of what they deem constitutes the ‘perfect’ church.
In response to this search for the perfect church, it’s been said: ‘when you do find the perfect church, please don’t join it, as it will no longer be perfect’. The idea is that anywhere humans are brings about imperfection – the church is no exception.
However, the Bible does outline for us what the church ought to be and function like, and we learn of this in and through the books of 1 & 2 Thessalonians. Commencing this Sunday the 6th of January we will study through these two books of the Bible expositionally. You are invited to join with Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour for this study and encouragement from God’s word.
See you from 6 p.m for worship and study in God’s word as we dig into this book and find out more!
