From the Pastor’s Desk –
There are times for most of us that little things just get under our skin and cause us to be anxious and disturbed. Not big events but just something that we experience or comes along our path and it just drives us a little off course. It is like being unbalanced or out of sorts. It’s very annoying. Maybe a speeding ticket from a multi nova camera when you had been oh so very careful meanwhile others around you were driving like crazy people. But the light hits you! I am reminded of Martha, Jesus was over at her and her sister and brothers house for a meal and Martha found herself requesting Jesus to tell Mary her sister to help her instead of just sitting at His feet. Moments like this just come along and annoy us, annoy Martha. Jesus gave Martha that day some wonderful advise that can help us too today. There really is only ever one thing important that deserves our attention to detail. It’s keeping Jesus as the centre of all our thoughts emotions and passions. Jesus wants us to not be drained by futile things that really are not worth the worry we give them. Maybe these words are for you today – they were for me through this week. Stay at the feet of Jesus and don’t be pulled away by the frivolous.
Israel Tour January 7h 2020 – Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour along with CC Albany and CC Auckland are heading to Israel! Still time to put your name down for a trip of a lifetime. To walk where Jesus walked and to see the Bible become alive before your very eyes. Sign up at the information booth.
