Diary notes This morning we give thanks for all the mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers with us today. We welcome all these women today and pray God’s richest blessing upon each of them. From the Pastor’s Desk – I have watched my wife Helen over many years be both a mother and a grandmother. How many times I have had an empty bed during the small hours of the morning when she has been up praying for our children and now our grandchildren. God knows Helen’s prayers, her voice He hears every evening, as she brings our loved ones again and again before Him. It is fascinating to see her life consumed with her Saviour Jesus Christ and how her role as a mother and grandmother has filled her life with great joy. The Bible tells us that Psa 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. The role of a mother is precious in the sight of the Lord. At times it can be a tearful one when one of the little ones is struggling or ill. Our world is trying to eliminate the role of motherhood, even the very name. May we all this morning give thanks for the godly mothers who never give up on their little ones and who pray for them still, even after they are grown and no longer at home.
