This Week at Calvary
With the current trend in Covid 19 cases continuing to flatline here in WA, there appears to be a glimmer of hope for the removal of current restrictions. Here at CCSH, we will continue to adhere to the government requirements associated with the physical gathering of the church. We look forward to being able to meet collectively together soon. But we encourage you until then to continue to join us for our services live streamed, and to be part of our online prayer team. We pray that during this time of isolation, that you and your loved ones have grown in disciplines of faith that perhaps were lacking in some areas. As we come through this time of isolation and economic collapse, we pray that your relationship with God has matured and increased in strength. May the Lord’s church be greater in its obedience and witness after this period. Please don’t forget to continue to invite family and friends to join us via our live streamed services during this time of Covid 19 self-isolation! There has never been a greater opportunity to invite someone to have “Church” in their home.
From the Pastor’s Desk –
2Ti 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Anzac Day 2020, Helen and I, along with the majority of our street, stood at the end of our driveway from 5:55am, with candles lit, and gave thanks for those who fought and especially for those who died for the freedom we enjoy here in Australia. After the “Last Post” had been played, and a minute’s silence recognised, we prayed and thanked God for our blessed nation with the hope of revival coming to this land. Over 100,000 Australian lives were sacrificed in the conflicts we have been engaged in. As Christians in 2020, we have an enormous responsibility to be soldiers in a conflict that has been raging since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. We are told in the book of Ephesians that the clothing we wear is that of a soldier always in battle – Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Every soldier is armed and so too are we – 2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Our time in this battle is coming to an end – soon we will be removed from the battlefield. But right now, we are fighting in the very height of this war – the target – the rescue of lost souls. I pray that you will continue to pray, witness and wield God’s Word. For the casualties of this conflict are many, but we have been reassured by our Commander in Chief, Jesus Christ– the victory is ours. Let us never surrender nor run from the battle. Jesus is coming soon.
