What’s Happening – If you are visiting with us today for the first time – welcome – please make yourself known to one of the ushers or greeters so you can be introduced to Pastor Keith and Helen today. We are in need of 6 new faithful “helpers” for the Sunday school classes. Please no teachers who are already teaching. This is a blessed ministry to our littlest saints! This will enable our growing Sunday school classes to continue to teach Christ to the little ones in the most efficient manner. Calvary Youth kicks off Friday 7th August here at 6:30 pm – looking forward to seeing the youth grow in Christ and become the men and women of God that He has planned for each of them. Anyone who would like assist in servant support roles with the CCSH youth please fill in a connection card and place them in the prayer box – thanks! We continue to try and develop multi skilled servants here at CCSH and especially in the many media roles. See Pastor Marlon if you are looking to develop your skills in this capacity. Could all those who signed up to be part of the CCSH choir meet at the front of the sanctuary please with Hannah Le Chat after completion of this morning’s service. To keep up with our studies, please be reading the Book of Hebrews, James, Revelation and the 2 Peter. Calvary Women’s study in recess for school holiday break.
From the Pastor’s Desk –
Every person has the responsibility to respond to the Gospel before death closes the door to life on earth. There is a door to heaven and there is a door to hell. God is His great mercy, sent His Son Jesus Christ to open the way, the door to heaven for all who would receive His forgiveness through His death and resurrection from the dead. All around us, resounds the reality of death and it is inevitable in every lifetime. The Bible says, It is appointed unto men once to die – Heb 9:27. The moment we are born, we begin the process of dying. All over the world, men and women are living for today with barely a thought of eternity. The Bible teaches that the world system as we know it shall come to a close. We read in 1 John 2:17, The world and its desires pass away. And in 2 Peter 3:10, we read, But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. But Jesus Christ gives us the Gospel of hope – the Good News that God loves us. He is the God of mercy. He provides grace greater than the sin of mankind. If we will only confess our sin, forsake our sin, accept His forgiveness, and walk with Him by faith, we can know the joy of His presence, even in the midst of life’s storms! We are taking a small break from Hebrews for two Sundays as I have two messages that I believe God would have me share with you in relation to the current events within the world and their effect on the modern church. May God give us His wisdom and understanding of the times in which we live!
Grace Offering
We have an offering container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Proverbs 3: Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty And your vats will overflow with new wine. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work
