What’s Happening – Welcome to Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour this morning and tonight as well. Back to the Book of revelation with Pastor Israel tonight! We invite you to become part of the fellowship here at CCSH by serving in one of the many ministry areas available. Simply fill in one of our Connection cards and place it in the offering container. You will notice we do not take up an offering but have an offering container at the rear of the sanctuary for you to give your grace offering unto the Lord. CCSH teaches that giving unto the Lord is part of our overall worship to God and is fulfilling the teaching of Jesus about our being thankful and faithful stewards unto the Lord for all that He provides for each of us. Sunday school teachers, there will be a special meeting shortly to discuss some important guidelines we must adhere to in relation to our church’s new insurance policy! Date to be announced. From the Pastor’s Desk – Phl 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; We know that Paul did not mean “work so as to earn your own salvation.” Such a statement would contradict the whole of Paul’s gospel. What Paul did mean is to call the Philippians to put forth real effort into their Christian lives. This is not to work their salvation in the sense of accomplishing it, but to work out their salvation – to see it evident in every area of their lives, to activate this salvation God freely gave them. Often Christians can find themselves in a stale routine in their devotion and service to God. Our Bible reading drops off, our church attendance, our giving, our prayer and this is NOT allowing the Holy Spirit to work out of our lives the grace, love and power that God has placed within us. Today are you in a rut in your relationship with God? In a marriage when this occurs, that relationship is headed for some serious problems. So too in our walk with God, it’s to be new every morning – this is just what Jeremiah spoke of in Lamentations – Lam 3:22
It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. Lam 3:23
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Today, work out your salvation, in worship, in prayer, in being in church, in serving, in giving and in sitting under His precious Word. Fan the flames of a passionate devotion unto the one who died on the cross of Calvary for you and who is soon to return to take us to glory!
