Wednesday 7:00pm – Calvary Chapel Prayer Night – 2 Corinthians series study
What’s Happening – This morning we celebrate communion here at CCSH. Parents, we ask for your oversight as to the level of your children’s involvement in the Lord’s Supper. Tonight, Pastor Marlon, takes us back to our study in 1 Thessalonians – the model church. Wednesday, please join us for prayer and our series study in the letter that the Apostle Paul truly bares his heart to us all – 2 Corinthians. Could all those in the CCSH drama team meet with Pastor Keith, directly after the morning service please at the front of the sanctuary for a quick catch up! Please join us for prayer before the morning service in classroom #1. Prayer is the very power by which the Lord moves through the church.
From the Pastor’s Desk – The gospel is the blessed news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross to pay the debt we each owe for all our sins. The payment is massive, the Bible tells us that the wages of sin is death. So, our penalty was death! But thanks be to God, Jesus died on the cross at Calvary for our sins and God has forgiven us! To receive God’s forgiveness for our sins we must each repent before God. Repentance is more than just being sorry for our sin; it is a complete turning away from our total depravity. When we do that, Jesus Christ frees us from the consequences of sin, which is guilt and ultimate eternal separation from His presence. Only then are we delivered from the clutches of Satan and from His eternal dominion of Hell. Jesus Christ governs with love that demands obedience. His great love calls us to the foot of His cross so that we may receive His pardon for our transgressions. The Bible says, Let the peace of God rule in your hearts – Colossians 3:15. If you have not done that, then today is the day to kneel before Him and be set free and forgiven. This is what God demands of us. The world continues to spiral seemingly out of control before our eyes but let us be reminded again this morning, of the importance of gathering together as the body of Christ and not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as some sadly are, but let us encourage one another – for the day of Jesus return for His church is fast approaching!
