It’s sooner than you think…!
On last night’s channel nines programme, “A Current Affair”, the Woolworths company, announced that they are designating from this week, certain of their stores to be ‘card only’ purchase stores. In other words, cash will be refused for purchases from these specific Woolworth stores.
The reason given was that it was meeting the younger demographic of our population who are more comfortable using card only and do not utilise cash in any of their purchases!
( Is this the demographic that are being prepared for a false Messiah as spoken of by Paul – 2 Thessalonians 2: 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Originally, the refusal of cash for purchases was predicated strictly due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Guess there is more to the changes occurring in our world at such speed that Covid 19 was the convenient ‘excuse catalyst’ but now there is not even a ‘blink of the eye’ of making radical changes as to how we live!
I want to remind you of a passage written in the Bible some 2,000 years ago by the Apostle John warning those who would be living in the very Last Days of a significant way they would buy and sell.
Revelation 13: 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.
I believe the Anti-Christ is alive today, but I do not know who he is, nor will I know who he is, because the Bible also tells me that the Church will be raptured from this planet BEFORE he comes to power as the world dictator.
But with the swiftness to which our world is charging toward a cashless society – which will be the springboard to eventually receiving a mark on your hand or forehead to make any purchase at all – these current world events shout out to us, that the time is very very short until Jesus calls His Church home and the Great Tribulation begins.
The world is being absolutely prepared to receive the false messiah, the Anti-Christ, and the change to a cashless society is a giant leap toward this moment appearing.
So, what are we to do? Firstly, we are not to panic at our world’s purchasing system going cashless. But we are certainly to take ever more seriously the hour in which we live as being the very edge of the events the Book of Revelation details to the Church about the signs of Jesus return.
Peter the Apostle gives us a personal pep talk on exactly how you and I should be living right now in these Last Days – 2 Peter 3 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It’s time to be serious with your walk with God. It’s time to look to His Word, to be in fellowship and to pray for those who you know and love, who have not received Jesus Christ as yet, as their Lord and Saviour.
