From the Pastors Desk
Our hearts and prayers go out to those who suffered the loss of their homes in this week’s fires. To lose all their photos, memories, material possessions, their home, would indeed be a difficult time. We live in a world in which events such as these fires are not new and sadly will they neither be the last time such losses occur. Wonderfully however, there has been no loss of life which is a blessing considering the intensity of the blaze. No one is exempt from loss. Whether it be a fire, a storm or an illness or accident. People face such tragedies in this fallen world. Each time I have been personally involved in such events with the WA Police, I am always reminded of what I treasure in my life. None of my treasures are inanimate, my wife Helen, our children, their husbands and wives and our grandchildren, make up the list. When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and saviour, what I considered a treasure, radically changed. In the old days, suits were designed by the undertakers, for the final clothing of those whose lives had breathed their last here on earth. Every pocket was sown shut, because one cannot take anything with you once your life has ceased. When I read that it was a great lesson for me to truly ascertain what my real treasures are. I have never seen a removalist vehicle in tow behind a hearse. Let us pray for those who have had their homes destroyed, that God will provide shelter and care for them. But also let us pray that they will find Jesus Christ during this most difficult period in their lives – He is our greatest treasure!

Faithful Servants
We are seeking to overfill the servant positions here at CCSH. The church requires, Sunday school teachers, greeters, ushers, coffee servers, and cleaners. Our prayer is that we will be overwhelmed with saints, who in 2021 will faithfully love the saints here by serving them in some capacity. Be a blessing and sign up to serve!

Helen’s Heart –
Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still – Psalm 4:4 Lately I’ve been in the ‘wars’ physically – freakish accidents – 1.Where the broom end snapped and cut my finger badly. You begin to wonder “why Lord?” But most forms of illness have their treasures. “The bumps in the road are there to make you slow down.” – Doris Carmody. It gives us time to slow down and hear from God; it stills our spirit, so we sense God is aware of the smallest wish of our heart and we hear the simplest words spoken to us. “Be still my soul – for just as Thou art still, Can God reveal Himself to thee…His lessons – and His power in weakness show.” – Bessie Porter

Prayer – Join us as we pray next Sunday morning at 9:30 am for the Lord’s blessing and protection over all our services and His ministries here at CCSH. pray – your praying can make such a difference!

Tithes and Offerings we provide a grace offering container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Our greatest encouragement for giving is that it pleases the Lord. Let us remember that God was unsparing in His giving – Proverbs 3: 9 Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. 10 Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.

Next Week We Celebrate Communion – Remembering what Jesus did for us! Parents we ask that you use your knowledge of your children’s walk with God as to the extent of their participation in the communion service next Sunday.
1 Corinthians 11:Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
Examine Yourself
27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

See you next Sunday!
