From the Pastors Desk
It’s only a few weeks until Easter and always at this time I cannot but be overwhelmed by the suffering, isolation, and punishment that my Lord took for me. Palm Sunday He rides into Jerusalem, healthy and receives the praise of so many. But sadly, there would be some from that crowd who welcomed Him, who would later call out “crucify Him”. Jesus knew the fickleness of man’s heart. How quickly Jesus would find Himself abandoned and alone. I cannot imagine the sorrow that must have filled His heart as His creation, turned on Him. But I think there is a worse treatment that one can deliver, that of being indifferent. That is going about one’s business without a thought or a care about He who died on the cross for our sins. Behind indifference is selfishness and a total lack of care for others. How blessed we are here at CCSH, for the love we see in action each time we gather. This is the work of the Spirit in His church today. To drive out selfishness, to eradicate indifference and to encourage each other in the things of God. Heb 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Helen’s Heart –
If my people…will…pray and seek my face…I will hear from heaven – 2 Chronicles 7:14 – Elijah prayed and fire from heaven came down. Elijah prayed and the Shulamite woman was raised from the dead. Hannah prayed and God gave her a son. Paul prayed and churches were born in Asia and Europe. Peter prayed and Dorcas was raised to life. These prayers were godly lives lived for God’s glory. James tells us that “Elijah was like us and he prayed earnestly.” Are you in despair, seeking direction, burdened for your country? PRAY.
“The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much!”
Prayer
Be encouraged to join with the growing number of saints who are transforming the prayer night into a night of power and encouragement. A spiritual connection is occurring at this night like no other. James 5:14 teaches us that you can call upon the elders of the church here at CCSH and they will pray over you and anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord. Wednesday evening prayer is the perfect time just for that ministry.
Tithes and Offerings we provide a grace offering container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Our greatest encouragement for giving is that it pleases the Lord. Let us remember that God was unsparing in His giving – Proverbs 3: 9 Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. 10 Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
Calvary Kids – Bible knowledge test:
1. How old was Samuel when God called him?
2. What caused John the Baptist to jump when he was a baby?
3. What wild animals had David killed that were trying to hurt his sheep?
4. How long did it take Noah to build the ark?
Parents you can use these for your family devotion
Once the service has commenced, especially the teaching of the Word of God, we ask that you remain seated so as not to be distraction to others during this most important time. Should you need to leave your seat the ushers on your return will direct you to a seat at the rear of the church – thank you.

We come to God, the judge of all. We come in awe because He is the Judge, but we do not come in utter dread, because His Son has borne the judgment for us. We embrace the Scripture’s call, Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need – Hebrews 4:16 This is our highest delight – to gather before our God!
