Pastor Keith   -

It was King George the fifth who wrote the following statement, “The secret of happiness is not to do what you like to do, but to learn to like what you have to do.”

Our modern society is hell bent on seeking happiness. People think happiness is to be found only by constant pursuit and relentless searching. How many times have you heard people say, “I want to go and find myself?”

But the fact of the matter is that happiness is not an end in itself but it is actually a by-product of something far greater.

Jesus said, Mat 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

The “things” Jesus spoke of were the basic needs of life: food, drink, clothes, shelter. But Jesus exhorted us not to make these “things” the sole purpose of our existence. Instead, Jesus said we should “seek…..the kingdom.”

In this little statement is found the key to happiness. “Seek first the kingdom of God….”

But how do we do this?

By submitting ourselves completely, with no reservations, to Jesus Christ as King of our lives every day. It’s that simple!

This is the path of true happiness!
