Never never alone!
The great missionary David Livingstone on his return to his homeland of Scotland after 16 very difficult years of ministry as a missionary in Africa was asked to speak to the students attending Glasgow University.
As he stood to speak, the students could see that David Livingstone’s body had borne the brunt of his time in Africa with it being emaciated after approximately twenty-seven fevers had racked his body in that time.
They also noticed that his left arm hung limp by his side the result of his being mauled by a lion.
His words penetrated the deathly silence and awe of those sitting before this amazing servant of God especially when he spoke the following words with passion and reverence.
“Shall I tell you what sustained me during the hardship and loneliness of my exile? It was Jesus Christ’s promise, “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age!”
That blessed promise this humid Autumn day in March is ours as well here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour.
No matter what trials you may face, Jesus Christ promises to never leave you alone in them, that He will never leave us. That He is with us every step of the way and walk in our lives here in Western Australia.
Today I urge you to keep that very promise close to your heart and embedded in your mind – this is the promise of God for you!
