Daily devotion – Monday 5th April 2021
Because Jesus rose from the dead, the reality of Heaven is as sure as every other promise in the Bible.
In the midst of his suffering, it was Job who said, “Man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward.” Job 5:7.
I have never met a person who did not have troubles of some kind in their lives. Fear and sickness all rob us of happiness; broken relationships and shattered dreams fracture our peace.
But one of God’s greatest promises is that all of these will be forgotten in Heaven, where “….there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4.
This is the beautiful reality and hope of Heaven. Throughout eternity there will be an intimate relationship between Christ and His church. He will be the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne, and He shall lead them to fountains of living waters.
Therefore, the future holds no terrors we cannot face. Beyond the storms lies Heaven and the reality of our dreams. This is why we should never be filled with fear, discouragement, or despondency.
For ahead of us is Heaven! Praise the Lord!
