Pastor Keith   -

AFL footballers are constantly reviewing their performances. Mondays there is always a team review of the most recent game. In addition, that week each player will sit down with their line coach and go over their individual performances in order to be the best football player they can be.

How long has it been since you took stock of where you are going in your relationship with God – as part of the Church and then as His disciple?

Things like evaluating where your marriage is at, your own future, examining the years ahead?

How many years lie between now and when you reach your next big age milestone?

As yourself the following, pull off the road for a moment, put your gear into neutral and ask some hard questions:
1. Are you really happy, genuinely challenged and fulfilled in life?
2. In light of eternity, are you making a constant investment for God’s glory and His cause?
3. Is the direction your life currently taking, leading you toward a satisfying and meaningful future?
4. Can you honestly say that you are in the nucleus of God’s will for you, your marriage, your family?
5. If you have children, are you spending sufficient time with them and know where they each are in their relationship with Christ?

What are you asking the Lord for on behalf of your life, your spouse, your children?

Make sure you stop long enough to really think these things over – because life and time are rushing on, but in your case, to what direction and to what outcome?

King Solomon gave us some wonderful counsel when he said, Ecc 12:1 Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”…..Remember Him before…the spirit will return to God who gave it. Ecc 12: 6-7.

By taking this time, and doing these things, by following through and making the necessary changes….God will lead and bless you as you call on Him each day to guide you.

But the very best of all this, is that you really speak to Him every day, worship, praise and serve Him and He will get everything on target. He loves doing this for His children. He is the Good Shepherd! And you will find your life fulfilled as you walk with Him who loves you.

And you will be able to say, “I have not lived my life in vain!”
