This morning Welcome to Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour this morning. We have the blessed privilege of gathering around the Lord’s Table and we “remember Jesus”. Let us prepare our hearts and instruct our children for this precious gathering. Please see either Thomas Woodage or Jim Madden or one of the Ushers if you would like to assist serving during these times. You can gather for prayer in classroom #1 prior to this morning’s service for prayer. At the end of today’s message, the Pastors will be available to pray with you as well.
From the Pastor’s Desk – This week I lost a lot of work on my computer, many hours in fact, went into cyberspace and it just caused me no end of frustration and loss of valuable time. We live in such an electronic age now that the ‘fixing or finding’ of things can seem at times like mission impossible unless you are between the age of 6 and 30 years. Books, actual paper books are becoming a disappearing item. Handwriting on paper – a dimming activity. What other things in your life have begun to fade? Like eating at the table together as a family. Praying as a family before you eat? A quiet time in the house in the evening when the TV or computer is off and members of the family spending time in God’s Word. This week gather as a couple or a family and take a moment to be a family at home. If you are single – even better – find a place where you can read God’s Word and journal your thoughts and those that the Lord lays upon your heart. You and I, each need time alone with God. He will grant you the peace and calm to then tackle the mission into cyberspace. God always hears and answers your prayer! Mat 14:23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.
Helen’s Heart I was preparing for a youth camp my husband had been invited to preach at – scurrying about cleaning, packing ensuring I took all I needed for a 6-month-old and young toddlers. I wanted to have all my cloth nappies washed and dried before leaving. I went to hang them on the line, forgetting I had a pan of oil on the stove to deep fry chips for lunch. I returned to a kitchen fire! After ensuring the kids were safe at the neighbours’ house, I did as instructed by the fire brigade and tried to smother the fire – in the process I severely burnt my foot. It was very painful nevertheless I went to the camp and was confronted by a “Job’s Comforter” who proceeded to tell me all of the reasons I was suffering, the main being some hidden sin in my life. We have all been victims of such a tongue, a problem arises, a testing or trial comes, and someone harangues as did Job’s 3 friends. We can learn from how he handled it. Honest words are not painful – Job 6:24. He was willing to listen to objective reasoning. God does have His reasons for allowing trials – to refine or chasten but ultimately to conform us to His image – Romans 8:29. Not all our trials have tidy reasons and conclusions – so let’s not pretend to know the mind of God. When we see another suffering, it might be best to ‘keep our mouth shut’ – a gentle hug, a prayer, a soft “I am here for you” will display more empathy than an arrogant ‘I know why’. Blessed is the man who endures trials for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life – James 1:12.

Grace Offering, we provide a grace offering container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Our greatest encouragement for giving is that it pleases the Lord. Let us remember that God was unsparing in His giving Proverbs 3:9 Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. 10 Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine..

We ask please that during each service that there be the least amount of moving, exception being mothers called to their children in the creche, so as not to be a distraction to others worshiping our Lord and listening intently to the teaching of His Word. Should you need to leave your seat, the ushers will direct you on your return to one of the seats at the rear of the sanctuary – thank you for your cooperation.
