Daily devotion – Monday 14th June 2021
Mat 14:25 About three o’clock in the morning[fn] Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.
Still, on the first day of our tour in Israel, we leave Nazareth and head to the City of Tiberius on the Sea of Galilee to spend two nights. On the way we pass through the City of Cana to Tiberius. Cana was where Jesus carried out His first recorded miracle by turning water into wine at a wedding.
Can you imagine going to a wedding and being seated next to the Son of God?
It would have been an exciting discussion time at the table I am sure.
Unlike perhaps some weddings where you sit with people who aren’t the worlds best dinner guests.
At Tiberius, waking up overlooking the Sea of Galilee is always a highlight for me. It’s so quiet and peaceful with the added blessing of the knowledge that this is the location where Jesus spent most of His time in ministry. I always look out the window when I first wake and picture Jesus walking across this beautiful piece of water.
When was the last time you looked out the window and took in God’s fantastic creation?
Today everyone is too busy for God, and yet He is in all we see. We get so involved in ourselves and miss God!
When we get to Heaven, I wonder if we get to look back over our lives and see how many times we took God’s presence for granted?
What about today? Have you spent any real time with Christ? Have you spoken to Him as yet? Not just a hurried recorded prayer with no life in it. But a genuine discussion with Him!
You know you can even travel to the Holy Land and miss God if your life is consumed with yourself!
The beauty and joy of Heaven for me will be seeing my Lord, being close to Him. I will need nothing else for it to be Heaven.
How about you?
