This morning – This morning we gather around the Lord’s Table to remember His love and sacrifice for each of us. It is a time to remember He who saved us and loved us first. If you are visiting with us today, we welcome you and pray God’s blessing be with you. If you are not a Christian and would like to know how to become a Christian, our pastors will be available to pray with you directly after this morning’s service at the front of the sanctuary. Parents, as your children reach the desired maturity to sit with you in the sanctuary instead of attending Sunday school lessons, we invite you to speak with our ushers so we can arrange their ‘official’ graduation from Sunday school. Your child would be prayed for by the Church, receive a gift Bible and be officially welcomed to the main sanctuary services. Join our 24/7 prayer team by seeing Marty Le Chat or speak to one of our ushers. We also invite you to join our preservice prayer team in the main Sunday school classroom prior to service beginning. Are you gifted with computers, keen to serve the Lord, please see Pastor Marlon Le Chat and become part of our growing CCSH Media Team? This morning take time to find out about supporting Operation Christmas Child by speaking to Robyn who will be in the foyer with all the details.
From the Pastor’s Desk – All rugby enthusiasts would have seen the powerful Fijian Sevens team take the gold once again this time in Tokyo. The most wonderful thing about their victory is that these tremendously built elite athletes sang a hymn of praise to Almighty God to celebrate their win. The song is ‘We have overcome’, “We have overcome, By the blood of the lamb, And the word of the Lord, We have overcome..” These men, on the world stage, were not afraid to give God the glory in the most public arena, the Olympic Games. Much has been spoken and promoted about equality, diversity, and other such popular modern trends at the games throughout. But true people of faith, who flew to Japan on a cargo plane loaded with frozen fish, being the only means of transport for them, kneeled, prayed, and sang glory to their Lord Jesus Christ! If you are a Christian, maybe the only one in your workplace, your class or family, take courage from the Fijian Sevens Gold medallists and not shy away from giving God the glory due to His name when opportunity arises.
Helen’s Heart I have not stopped giving thanks for you remembering you in my prayers – Eph 1:16 As mother’s, we’ve all experienced that desire to help our children as they face stages of independence – their first time being ‘baby sat’; first day at school; first day at high school; attending a new school; at university and even onto moving into marriage and starting their own family. There is that sense of “have I done enough to train them for the challenges they face?” We need not concern ourselves, no matter whether our child is big or small, we can say a prayer for them. When we call on God, He bends down His ear to listen, as a father to a child. “When you were small and just a touch away, I covered you with blankets against the cold night air. But now that you are tall and out of reach, I fold my hands and cover you with prayer.” – Donna Cooper.
Grace giving –
We have a container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving, or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Our greatest encouragement for giving is that it pleases the Lord. Let us remember that God was unsparing in His giving Proverbs 3:9 Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. 10 Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine..
Please pray for Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji
