Pastor Keith   -

Luk 6:12 Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Decision time is prayer time.

Have you ever made a foolish or hasty decision that you regretted? How many poor decisions have you ever made?

Jesus is about to select 12 men to be His Apostles. Jesus, therefore, spends all night in prayer over these men.

Before making His choice, He prayed. This is the formula for always making a godly decision. By that, I mean you haven’t gone with a “gut feeling” on what you think is best.
But Keith, you say one of those selected was going to be a traitor, and another one would end up denying he knew Jesus. We understand on both occasions that God’s plan was going to unfold as He desired despite these events.

Does that mean because you pray before a decision that you will always make the right decision? Not necessarily, but by going to the Lord first, God will ultimately get you the right choice, the right path, the right decision in the end!

God knows our weaknesses, our frailties, but He is always there to get us back on track and to help us end up where we should be. When we go to our Lord in prayer with our dilemmas God will always make a way.

I was always fearful of making the wrong decision in the early years of my Christian walk. But then I realized that my Heavenly Father was always there to help me fix my mistakes and make a way out of something if I chose incorrectly because He always loves me and desires the best for me.

So, by faith, after much prayer, now I make my decisions, with the knowledge and trust that God will guide me ultimately to the right one!
