Daily devotion – Thursday 8th July 2021
How often have you heard someone say, “All I have left is prayer. Or all I can do is pray!”
You may as well say to a starving man, “All I can do is offer you food,” or to someone critically ill, “All I can do is give you the medicine that will heal you!”
Prayer unlocks the most beautiful gracious storeroom of love, power and grace. Heaven is opened when you pray, and God’s power is released from Heaven here on earth right into your situation of need.
James 4:2 tells us, …. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
The Bible says, Be anxious for northing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God – Phil 4:6
This is true not only for our needs but the needs of others also. So often our prayers focus only on ourselves. But let us remember that God desires to use as His channels, through our prayers, to touch the lives of other people as well.
Who is it that you should be praying for today?
