Daily devotion – call to prayer – Saturday 21st August 2021
2Ch 7:14 “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
“Taliban’s deadly door-to-door hunt for collaborators”
Secret UN report warns Taliban is ‘arresting and threatening to kill or arrest family members of target individuals unless they surrender’. – The Australian – Friday 20th August 2021
Behind the lies of the Taliban, houses are being raided as they search out for those, who are a threat to the new strict Islam regime under the Taliban. Executions are taking place and followers of Christ, our brothers and sister in the Lord, are firmly in the sights of the radicals and death awaits all who are captured.
If every believer, every Church, throughout the Christian world would join in united prayer for the Church and the innocent people of Afghanistan, I am sure we would see the miraculous occur in that troubled and bloodied land.
Politics and politicians will never be the saviour of such situations. But there is One whose name is above all names, Jesus Christ, and when we as His Church pray in the power of His name – things change!
Will you set aside, individually and as families, time to gather to pray, for God to intercede in this catastrophic situation.
This is an emergency and only God can change this situation and His name be glorified.
But it is now for us, His Church, to be the instruments of change occurring through the power of prayer!
Romans 14:11 “As I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”
