Daily devotion – Tuesday 10th August 2021
Job 42:5
“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You.
I am writing this devotion as the worship team rehearse just prior to our Sunday evening service. It’s the close of another week and we head into a new week where 16 million Australians are in lockdown across our nation. We are living in times like no other in our history.
We don’t know what lays ahead of us this week or even this year as far as COVID is concerned. There seems no end to its invasion of our world. For me it’s a time of seeking God even greater than before. I constantly ask the Lord for wisdom for His Church, for His guidance as people’s lives are dealing with not only COVID-19 but everyday living situations.
As a Christian, the ability or the privilege of being able to come before God with my concerns is such a blessing to my soul. When Job experienced all his struggles it was not answers from God that soothed his heart.
It was seeing God in a greater clarity and understanding just how awesome He is that brought peace to Job’s soul.
May you this week be seeking God with a greater hunger and passion and may you come to see Him just as Job saw Him.
And peace too will cover you and bring calm to you in the midst of our world’s storms.
