A Call to Prayer for Battle!
Matthew 24:6 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
The fall of Kabul to the Taliban in Afghanistan, the massive earthquakes in Haiti and Turkey capture and connect our attention once again with Jesus words from His Olivet discourse. Jesus, remember, was answering a question from His disciples about the end times – 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
Jesus said these are the beginning of sorrows – the word sorrows means – (the pain of child birth).
Now more than ever, we should be ready for Christ’s soon return for His Church, as our world flashes these signs before our eyes!
But first, now, we must be in desperate intercessory prayer for the people of Afghanistan. For it is about to come under the sharia law of the Taliban – a brutal violent system.
Yes, we are many many kilometres away from the conflict but our prayers can arise from right here in Australia and land in Afghanistan after they have reached our Father in Heaven.
Let us never forget the weapons of our warfare are vastly more powerful than the Taliban Army and all of Satan’s cohorts.
2Co 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
But it would be a sin for us not to pray!
Will you join with thousands and millions of other Christians and step into the conflict of Afghanistan by prayer?
Let us pray for Christ to be seen, be heard, His Word be taught, and His name be glorified in Afghanistan today.
Let us pray also for the protection of the people of this nation who are now under this brutal regime – they need our prayers desperately!
