This Week at CCSH – Today we pray and welcome to the Board of Elders here at CCSH, Marty Le Chat. His faithfulness, his commitment to prayer, will be a blessing to us as we seek God’s guidance for His Church collectively to reach the lost for Jesus Christ and fulfill the Great Commission. We prayerfully remember today the 2,996 people were killed in the 9/11 attacks, including the 19 terrorist hijackers aboard the four airplanes. Citizens of 78 countries died in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. Our world changed forever on that day. May God’s comfort be with their families at this time. With the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, we are reminded that the September 11 attacks were planned and resourced from Afghanistan. Therefore, we encourage you to be a people of prayer in these Last Days. Join us here this and every Wednesday as the clock clicks closer to the return of Christ for His Church. You can also be part of our prayer team each Sunday morning prior to service or connect via our 24/7 prayer line on SMS – see Marty Le Chat for details. To receive Pastor Keith’s daily devotion, go to our web page ccsh.com.au and follow the prompts.

From the Pastor’s Desk  – 2Ti 2:2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Paul directed Timothy to find ‘faithful’ men to preach the Gospel. Some Bibles translate the word ‘faithful’ as ‘reliable’. That is men who are believers and who are themselves dependable. Paul did not say talented men, charismatic men, men of oratory skills, but faithful, dependable, reliable men! It’s the Greek Word – PISTOS – to be trusted. Sadly, there is a great decline in faithfulness in our modern society. It’s seen in marriages failing because of faithlessness, Tragic parenting results as children see a lack of faithfulness to them from their mother or father or both. It’s seen in the sporting arena with breaches of contract. People not being faithful! Faithfulness is doing what you said you would do. It’s turning up – every time. It’s being able to be counted on, to be relied upon. Sometimes, people consider faithfulness turning up only when rostered on for ministry. No that is not faithfulness. The opposite to faithfulness the Bible terms a ‘man pleaser’. It’s someone who does something only to be seen, to be recognised, to be compensated. God is always faithful to us – He is always reliable. He always shows up, He is trustworthy and dependable. Examine your walk with the Lord this week. Your ministry at home and at Church. Can your wife, your husband, your children, the body of Christ look to you to count on? Once you commit that should be the end of it. Too many families live with an example of marriage, parenting, walking with the Lord as doing just enough to be seen. Let us as a Church, as followers of Christ, be there not just to be seen, not just when I am rostered on, but faithfully each time we gather. It is to such faithful individuals that more will be given and an increase in blessing will flow!

Quote of the week – “Live near to God, and so all things will appear to you little in comparison to eternal realities.”― Robert Murray McCheyne

Grace Giving – We have a container at the left rear of the chapel for your grace-giving, or you can give electronically via the following information. CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089. Our greatest encouragement for giving is that it pleases the Lord. Let us worship Him as we give and remember that God was unsparing in His giving Proverbs 11: There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right,
But it leads to poverty. 25 The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
