2Co 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

When Jesus was asked in a night visit by a religious teacher by the name of Nicodemus about how Christ’s was able to perform amazing miracles, that revealed God must be with Him – Jesus responded with these words – John 3:3…. “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

When you have a true saving encounter with God you become a new person – God gives you a new heart and your life changes dramatically. Not in your appearance but in who you are, what you see, what you believe, what you say…God changes you within!

When Saul met Jesus Christ that day on the Damascus Road, Saul’s life changed from that moment forever. God even changed Saul’s name to Paul!

What made Saul change to Paul?

First, he became absolutely convinced that the Gospel was true. Jesus Christ was no imposter; He was the risen Son of God, sent from Heaven to save us from our sins.

Paul began to see people the way God sees them. He now saw them in their lostness and confusion – and also, as those for whom Christ died!

When you go about your day, as a Christian, our eyes see the world so differently now. For we are no longer self-consumed. Now we see all around us clearly the broken human wreckage that sin is devouring and destroying.

Our hearts are now broken too like our Saviours and within us there rises within us the desire, and the urgency to help, to rescue those who are lost!

If you have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour – your eyes now see a broken world and we cannot help but seek to bring the Gospel to the ears and hearts of those drowning in their sin.

May God go with you this week and may you walk in the newness of life that Christ has filled you with, and may your new heart be filled with His love for the lost.
